The word Greek for Devil is, ‘diabolos,’ which means ‘a false accuser or slanderer.’ It comes from another word, which literally means, ‘to throw through.’ He is also called Satan, which means, ‘adversary.’ He is the adversary of God, hurling all manner of evil at His children.

The devil throws fiery missiles at us. These are not actual physical missiles, but rather they are burning masses of spiritual darkness. These hellish darts are filled with accusations, half-truths, and slander. He lies about God and slanders us. However, we have a missile defense system that is time tested and fully operational. It is called the Shield of Faith.
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Ephesians 6:16 King James Version
Imagine what it would be like if we did not have the shield of faith to protect us. Without a shield to block the attacks, it would be open season on us. Taking all those direct hits would make us act and feel like the walking wounded. That would explain why we hurt, show anger, and feel shame sometimes for no good reason. These are the effects of spiritual arrows of darkness embedding themselves into our hearts and minds. You’ve seen enough ancient battle scenes, and Star Trek episodes, to know that the guys who don’t keep their shields up get hurt. Hurry, get in the Bible, spend time with God, and build up your faith level. Transfer more energy to your shields and live a happier, more loving, and peaceful life. And, if you’ve been hit – and who hasn’t – get help.

The wiles of the devil warfare has been really described and methinks that we ought to apply ourselves to the matter at hand-the continuing warfare! We retreat at a peril, we advance at a profit and a privilege. In this warfare we need one another! Ephe6:16 is amply saying what goes on during the warfare process! It then boils to the mind-perceptions and attitudes towards what God says about us, about those who r opposed to us, about peoples,tongues and languages! Battles vary but are wide indeed! Ranging from private temptation to sin against God and man to obeying the High command to depopulate Hell or confiscate their captives with both both vibrant,vigorous and vehement prayer, support and word proclamation!
