Good Fruits and Submission Will Never Walk on Water

It takes faith to walk on water, and faith comes by hearing the voice of God. Peter could have all the good fruits there are, and a submissive spirit (well, maybe not Peter), but those things alone could never get the water to become solid under his feet. What got him to walk on the water was a single word – “Come,” spoken by Jesus. That word and that word alone carried within it the ability for Peter to carry out the miracle.

Peter answered, “Lord, if it is you, order me to come to you on the water.”Jesus said, “Come!” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.  Matthew 14:28-29 God’s Word Translation

All attempted human effort will not work. Our actions do not move God and cannot do miracles. Only God can do miracles, but He usually does them through people, and always through those who have heard Him and believe Him. Faith alone moves the miraculous hand of God,

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.  Romans 10:17 New American Standard Bible

Consequently, faith results from listening, and listening results through the word of the Messiah. Romans 10:17 International Standard Version

God still speaks today, and His spoken word still produces faith in the hearts of those that hear Him. Put His word into your heart, seek Him with a fruit filled and submissive heart, and then listen in patience for His faith filled voice.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.   Matthew 11:28 English Standard Version

It takes diligence to wait on Him, but He will speak, and it is worth it. His voice is the answer to all our problems and the doorway to the abundant life.
