Pray For the Answer Not For Faith

We are not to pray for faith. But rather we are to ask, seek, and knock on behalf of the specific answer we desire. In other words, we are to focus on the ‘things hoped for,’ and when the answer comes then faith comes.  Faith is the ‘reality’ of things hoped for.

Romans 8:26 My Translation

26 Likewise the Spirit helps our inabilities in prayer, for we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for our known words.   27 The Spirit searches our hearts and knows what our needs are.  He also knows what is the mind of God, and because of this He can pray through us for all things according to the plan of God.

Faith Is the Only Active Ingredient in Prayer

Knowing how to pray is 1% knowledge about prayer, and 99% having faith. If we have the faith, chances are good that we will speak it out correctly. Faith is the only active ingredient in prayer. Moving God’s hands is not about speaking the correct words, but rather in speaking faith words. The prayer itself is just the container by which a specific faith gets communicated to God in exchange for a specific desired hope.
