Even When Alone, You Are Not Alone – This Is a Good Thing

You are never alone. God promised to never leave you nor forsake you. It may seem like you are alone, but it is at these times that you must choose to believe that He is there. You must believe that He is there solely based on the fact that the Bible says it. This is the very essence and requirement of faith – to walk, not on what you see and feel, but on what you know – a knowing based solely on what the word of God says.

Silence never means that God is not there. He of course, is always there. Silence is a test of obedience. It is the indication that you are now expected to make a decision. A decision, not based on the comfort of His overpowering presence, or the renewed leading of His Spirit, but rather, a decision based on the sufficient knowing of His will. The reason He does not speak is because He has already spoken. Silence means that you already know enough, and that it is simply time to act.

“….This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (9) Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8, 9

Joshua needed to meditate day and night so that he could maintain the presence of God all day and all night.

As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from now and forever.” Isaiah 59:21

“….I will never abandon you or leave you.” (6) So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can mortals do to me?” Hebrews 13:5b, 6

These verses show what is expected of man, and what can be expected of God. Man is expected to continually ‘say’ what God has promised, and God can be expected to keep His promise. If you will keep the word of God coming out of your mouth, you will be able to keep the consciousness of God in your life, even when times are dark and lonely.

Outside of God, everyone is alone and without hope. In God, no one is alone, but the true realization of His presence only comes by faith. It is faith alone, in Christ alone, which alone moves God, when you are alone.

The reason He does not speak is because He has already spoken – through His word.
