    1. Author

      John,

      Thanks, but someone else did all this work. I just found it and did a better job formatting it. This list has been around for a long time. We love you. Rex

  1. The righteous Rabbi’s always taught that Hashem’s redemption of the world cannot possibly be obvious. It has to be hidden. Why? Because it has to fool the Yetzer Harah, the evil one. They taught that Mashiach only appears to come through the most unlikely and unkosher sources, however, it only appears so. And why is that? Because the seed of Mashiach stems from a root so intimately intertwines the ultimate good with the ultimate evil, darkness with light, truth and falsehood, what is best and what is worst. We know it, that the seed of Mashiach stems from between Eve and the Serpent, then between Lot and his daughters, Judah and Tamar, Ruth and Boaz, to name just a few. And why do the adults hide the broken Afikoman of the Pesach Seder, only to be discovered at the end of that time by their children, and their children’s children, and is the very final food we eat that night, the 15th day of Nissan? And why was Joseph the dreamer of prophetic dreams so hated and rejected by his brothers, to be pushed and to disappear by the work of their hands into a Gentile world, to lose his Hebrew name, while save and increase the fold of G-d’s children, to much later be returned to his brothers, his home, his roots, and to lovingly forgive their lie? And why did the righteous Rabbi’s consider Abraham’s son Isaac to have willingly carried the wood upon which he willingly offered himself as a sacrifice, to have willingly shed his blood, to have been declared dead (as the Midrash states), but to then live and rise again? And why did Moshe raise a staff of wood wrapped around in a serpent, such that saved the people from plagues that had befallen them, but only if they gazed upon the serpent on the staff piercing the Heavens? And why is the Gematria of Serpent the same as Mashiach (Nachash=Mashiach=358)?
    Do we believe Mashiach has not yet come, and that all the aforementioned is still to be fulfilled?

  2. In reality there is not one verse in the Old Testament that speaks about Jesus except perhaps a passage that speak of a False prophet.

    1. There are many verses in the O.T. that speak of Jesus. On the road to Emmaus Jesus Himself “expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” (Luke 24:27).

    2. Today we can read the same verses Jesus used in His lesson: Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 7:14, 9:6-7; Hosea 11:1, Deut 18:15, Micah 5:2. I’m sure that Jesus showed them many more than just these few. You can find Jesus in every book of the Old Testament; I can send you a list.

    3. And how could I forget Isaiah 53, the “Gospel of the Old Testament”? The entire chapter is about Jesus’ death and resurrection.

  3. Isaiah 42:6 As A Covenant to the People fulfilled by the Eucharist Covenant at the Lat Supper

  4. I thought that being crucified by his own people, the Jews was one of the prophecies as well. am I wrong about this? I know that Pilot washed his hands of it, and that it was the Jewish leaders who condemned Him to die. Wasn’t this one of the prophecies? I cannot find it!

    1. No. Jesus was a Jew. Being a Jew and a teacher, the Rabbis of the day had a problem on their hands, since they saw he was teaching something other, as they saw it, in opposition to what they taught. The Romans didn’t care much about Jewish issues as long as these didn’t threaten their political authority and agenda. While we know from the prophets that there was tremendous corruption amongst the Jews of the day, something that we know greatly displeased G-d, there were of course amongst them those Jews who were sincere believers and observant of G-d’s Holy Torah. The Jews were always comprised of those who longed for G-d on the one hand, and on the other, those who longed for the “flesh pots of Egypt,” or Rome as it were. Jesus gained popularity amongst Jews and non-Jews, so much so that it caused great concern amongst Jewish groups themselves. The Rabbinic establishment of the day saw his teachings as radical, but more so, while he challenged their Rabbinic authority, the way in which he represented himself was found even more loathsome to them, to violate Torah law. That is, the Rabbis saw that he made himself equal to G-d, and while challenging their authority and tradition, was leading the children of Israel away from Torah law, a very great transgression. So, in observance of Torah law, the Rabbis concluded that Jesus met criteria for the death penalty, having committed blasphemy, to be judged and executed as a false prophet “outside the camp,” according to Torah law. It was that the Rabbis aimed to fulfil G-d’s law, to please G-d, to do right by doing away with someone who was leading the nation to apostacy, to be rid of someone who was kindling G-d’s wrath that would ultimately bring judgment and calamity into the world. But the Rabbis could not exercise a death penalty themselves. Hence, they turned to the legal authorities of the day to perform the execution, to do G-d’s will, and put Jesus to death, and thus, vanquish the existential threat he posed against the Jews and their observance of G-d’s law in conjunction with the threat he posed against the Gentiles and their servitude to the world power of the day, Rome. It HAD to play out and be that way. It had to happen that all found him despicable, that he found favor in nobody’s eyes, that he would be despised, have no support, andthat not even his followers, not one would stand up in his defense – that humanity as a whole, every single human being, regardless of color sex or creed, all together would be responsible for his death. All were to blame. And just as all were to blame, the humongousness and magnitude of the Messiah of mankind, the promised one King of Israel, is exemplified by his capacity to forgive all just the same, and by the capacity to forgive and embrace all of humanities downfall, eventually lift them high to the mighty seat of G-d, to bask in the glorious light of the Father of us all.

      1. Yes and Amen! As a Jew who has come to believe that Yeshua is the Son of G-d and Man, come as Messiah. The evidence being found in the 365 prophecies found in the Tanakh and the eye witness accounts of the books in the B’rit Hadashah.
        The evidence to believe is given by G-d in the free gift of faith to believe these. This free gift of faith to believe is not created in a human being’s DNA or consciousness at birth. It has to be given by G-d, through a spiritual awakening which is faith. As faith and deeper yet required by G-d is trust; that separated the Israelities from the hellenistic gentile nations at the time of our father Abraham being called by G-d. However because of Christ as the prophesied Messiah to the world. By His faith, trust and wilful works of ministry, sacrifice, death & resurrection to life in Father G-d. Allows a Jew to believe in Yeshua as Messiah and a gentile to be grafted into Isra’el through Messiah. Which was always to be the metaphoric essence of G-d’s kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven. With Yeshua as King.
        Thank you for your truthful commentary.
        Shalom
        Michael

  5. Thoughts;
    Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
    Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
